The Meaning of Lord Krishna’s Teachings: The Path of Life
Dear brothers and sisters in faith,
Radhe-Radhe! I offer my salutations to you all as a servant of Lord Krishna and a devotee of Gauri Gopal Bhagwan. Today, we will try to understand the profound meaning of Lord Krishna’s teachings given in the Bhagavad Gita. These teachings were not only for Arjuna but for every person seeking the right direction and peace in life.
The True Meaning of Karma
Lord Krishna’s first and most important teaching is about karma. When Arjuna was filled with doubt about his duties on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the Lord explained that we have the right to perform our actions, but not to worry about their outcomes. This sounds simple, but applying it in life is a challenge. We all remain anxious about the results of our work—what will happen, what won’t. But Lord Krishna says that if we focus on our duties and leave the results to God, our mind will remain at peace.
For example, a farmer should think about working hard in the field, sowing seeds, and watering them. But whether it will rain or whether the crop will be good is not in his hands. Similarly, in our lives, we should perform our actions with full sincerity and leave the rest to God’s will.
Karmanye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana.
Ma karma-phala-hetur bhur ma te sango 'stv akarmani.
The Connection Between Dharma and the Soul
Lord Krishna beautifully explains dharma in the Gita. Dharma is not just about worship or rituals. It is the path that leads our soul toward God. When Arjuna asked how he could fight against his own family, Krishna told him that his dharma as a warrior was to stop adharma. Here, dharma meant rising above personal emotions to protect society and truth.
In our lives, too, there are times when we face difficult decisions. Understanding what is right and what is wrong becomes challenging. Lord Krishna says that dharma is what purifies and strengthens your soul. If you look deep within your heart and see the truth, you will know your duty.

Devotion: The Path to Connect with God
Another priceless teaching of Lord Krishna is about devotion. He says that the simplest way to reach God is through love and surrender. This devotion is not an external display—it is a heart-to-heart connection. When we dedicate every action to God, our life becomes a form of worship.
From my own experience, I can say that when I do something for the service of Gauri Gopal Bhagwan, like helping at the old-age home or the cowshed, the peace I feel cannot be found in any wealth or possessions. Lord Krishna says that devotion has the power to lift us above worldly sorrows.
Knowledge: The Art of Knowing Oneself
The Gita places great importance on knowledge. Lord Krishna explains that true knowledge is that which helps us recognize our soul. Our body and mind keep changing, but the soul is eternal and unchanging. When we understand that our true self is the soul, all worries and fears disappear.
Once, a devotee asked me, "Maharaj, we are so entangled in daily life that we don’t find time to think about the soul." I said, "Brother, you don’t need to go to the mountains to know your soul. Just take a few moments each day to calm your mind and look within. There, you will hear Lord Krishna’s voice."
Service: The Foundation of Dharma
Service holds a significant place in Lord Krishna’s teachings. He says that one who serves others serves Me. Whether it is caring for cows, helping the elderly, or feeding the hungry—it is all a part of devotion to God. I have experienced in my life that when I help someone in need, I feel as if Lord Krishna is sitting beside me, smiling.
In our Sanatan Dharma, service is considered the highest dharma. It is this spirit that connects us to one another and strengthens society.
Conclusion
Lord Krishna’s teachings are like a lighthouse for us. They teach us how to balance karma, dharma, devotion, knowledge, and service in life. These are not just words in books—this is the path that can make our lives meaningful.
I urge you all to reflect on these teachings. Try making a small change in your life—perhaps complete a task one day without worrying about the outcome, or help someone. The peace you will feel will bring you closer to Lord Krishna.
Radhe-Radhe! Jai Shri Krishna!
